Car co-operatives are already established in continental Europe, as well as in places like Coventry and Bristol. The idea is that a group of people come together to share use and ownership of a fleet of vehicles.

As a member of the Chorlton Car Co-op

• You will be able to hire a new or low-mileage vehicle over the phone or the internet
• The cars will be garaged near to where you live (see a map of potential sites here.)
• You will be able to arrange to use the cars at any time
• You will be charged only when you actually drive the cars, with fees based on how often you use the cars and how far you travel
